The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is housed in the original art-deco Houston Municipal Airport building at present-day Hobby Airport. The Museum’s exhibits showcase the rich heritage of civil aviation and Houston’s aviation history. This facility also enjoys a front-row vantage point to Hobby Airport’s diverse airport operations, giving it its own private air show every day. The several spaces offered at the Museum include the Museum Grounds for outdoor events, the grand, elegant Atrium, the Starliner Theater for smaller functions, and the impressive and versatile Hangar. Events ranging in size from fewer than fifty guests to more than five hundred can be comfortably accommodated in this beautiful, fascinating, and unique venue.

The Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion serves both as a stunning event venue and as an entryway to the McGovern Centennial Gardens. Designed by Apple store architect Peter Bohlin, and providing a breathtaking view of the Centennial Gardens, the Pavilion combines elegant design with natural beauty. This space can accommodate a seated reception for up to 200 guests, a buffet reception for up to 150, cocktail parties, meetings, and other events. The McGovern Centennial Garden also contains the Celebration Garden, a unique venue surrounded by tall hedges that create a beautiful private setting. The Celebration Garden can accommodate a seated ceremony for up to 240 guests, a seated dinner or special event for up to 220, and more for a cocktail party.

The Parador, an events facility located in the Museum District, can be rented for weddings, private parties, corporate training events, and seminars. Designated as a Texas Historical Landmark, The Parador is one of Houston’s premier social and corporate event venues. The building offers two large adjoining spaces, each with its own courtyard or garden, which can be reserved individually or used jointly to accommodate larger events.

This venue includes the following spaces:

· The Duomo: the centerpiece of The Parador. Its soaring thirty-five-foot dome, golden tones, deep-hued wood details, and adjoining garden make it a spectacular setting for any event. This space can accommodate 330 guests for a wedding ceremony, 252 for a seated dinner (220 with a dancefloor), or 300 for a cocktail reception.

· The Cloister: a quaint, idyllic, space with an adjoining private courtyard. It provides the perfect setting for more intimate events with understated elegance. This space can accommodate 180 guests for a wedding ceremony, 200 for a seated dinner (160 with a dancefloor), or 250 for a cocktail reception.

· The Gardens: a tranquil, picturesque outdoor setting. This space can accommodate 275 guests for a wedding ceremony, 150 for a seated dinner, or 300 for a cocktail reception.
